The research, technology and applications behind AltanaESP Network & System Developments

Result Implementation

The aim to initiated the AltanaESP Network & System and implement the formulated hypothesis are to assist all individuals in South Africa to constitute a strongly motivated, productive, committed, efficient and emotionally matured (self-empowered) work force, to deliver a positive contribution to the region, society, national community and the economy in general.

The formulated hypothesis may seem to be straight forward and simple enough, but the challenges are many, complex and should not be under estimated at all. The present facilitation and guidance situation is in a meltdown stage, and when proper and timely actions are not taken now, it going to be to late to correct any problems at all.

To implement the formulated hypothesis successfully, effective cooperation and coordination are absolutely essential. Otherwise  all intentions to improve the present facilitation and counselling situation on a national level, remains a mere myth and will render all efforts ineffective in the end.
A relevant national cooperation and coordination structure need to be implemented to promote, serve and expand the aims of the AltanaESP program as a whole. The following strategy is suggested in this regard:

ON A NATIONAL LEVEL (i.e. the Sameness Dimension)

Purpose: To allow for the proper distribution of relevant information, the maintaining of facilitation, orientation, coaching and counselling activities (guidance, assessment and feedback), services control, coordination, a basic service philosophy (service culture) and the creating and maintaining of national and international accepted standards through continuous assessment and monitoring of acquired competencies (i.e. continious monitoring, evaluating and correction when necessary). The above suggested proposal will ensured that all facilitation’s (implying counselings, educational and training) services rendered, are of an excellent quality and standard throughout the whole of South Africa.

Function: To collect, process and distribute information with regards to manpower needs, requirements and demands of the country. With this information to their disposal, individuals can determine how well certain competencies are marketable within the borders of South Africa, and to some extent internationally as well.

Benefit: The assessment and facilitation system (subsequent facilitation and counselling services) can easily be maintained, improved and expanded as future needs may arise. Thus, keeping services up to date in future, will not be as difficult as implementing and establishing the AltanaESP support strategy in the first place, due to a uniform policy that are flexible enough to accommodate individuals differences and community diversities.

ON A MACRO LEVEL (i.e. the Similar Dimension)

Purpose: To accumulate up to date information and to keep such information as relevant as possible.

Function: This way individuals can plan (CDP) and prepare their career strategies (SDS), based on information regarding competencies, presently required by the present world of work or possible demands of the workplace (NQF). Thus, allowing educational and training institutions to guide an individual more accountably and motivate him/her to approach a possible future career strategy in a more planned and responsible manner.

Benefit: Both the individual and participating companies can mutually benefit from this type of involvement. The individual could prepare him/herself for a future career in harmony with that what is required. The companies on the other hand, also benefits from this venture (financially), because people are better informed, trained and motivated. Thus, companies do not have to spent millions on unnecessary in house training programs, seminars and unnecessary orientation training to improve productivity.

ON A MICRO LEVEL (i.e. the Difference Dimension)

Purpose: Preparing and empowering each individual for the challenges lying ahead, via the quality of counselling (facilitation, assessment and feedback) services offered and to establish cooperation amongst individuals to improve the general work fitness amongst all people and communities in South Africa.

Function: Assisting people in need of life and career counselling, based on a flexible accommodation of their specific needs at that particular moment in time, in an ongoing process to ensure choice preparedness. A constant self-empowerment and psyche management drive as based on life-long, co-operative learning and learning through implementation.

Benefit: No realistic planning, both on national- and micro levels, are remotely possible without attending to the needs of specific individuals as well. In essence the individual could benefit, because life and career strategies is based on the required dynamics of future career opportunity, and the companies could benefit because they are able to adapt and enhance their existing manpower strategies, based on what would be available in the near future to meet certain demands of the workplace.
